MBA / CPA . Partner in leveraged buyout firm. Responsible for converting businesses to LBO thought process, negotiating financing and managing financial staff of global portfolio companies. Portfolio companies included, third largest salt company in world; second largest producer of boron; only global producer of soda ash, the world’s lowest cost producer of sulfate of potash; the largest European integrated plant producing PVC; the second largest silica company in the United States; and a large construction chemicals company with both domestic and international operations.70129

Primary focus was on the decommissioning of the nuclear facilities in New England along with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 reviews. The SOX work focused primarily on the testing of financial IT applications of a $1.4 billion company which cover 6 separate divisions, the largest having revenue of $320million annually.

Chain store with annual revenue of $60 million. Worked on a special project involving supply chain management. This entailed the purchase of raw material in the US and shipment to China for manufacture and then the return finished product for distribution. The project tracked the movement of inventory and determining losses while in both manufacturing and shipment. Analyzed system of reporting and improved the tracking of product.

Provided financial leadership in securing a $120 million senior credit facility. Managed all reporting to the lender syndication and debt rating agencies. Led the financial effort in all aspects of due diligence and financial integration of six companies. Participated heavily in developing the overall company vision, mission and strategy. Developed a consolidated financial package for the Board of Directors. Led the financial effort in the sale of the company including the preparation of the Confidential Information Memorandum, financial presentations to potential acquirers and coordination of acquirer due diligence requirements. Company was sold for $325 million. Managed the outside audit process, strengthened all financial organizations.Responsible for the leadership and direction of all financial, tax and information services functions for this leading defense technology company. Provided substantial support to the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee. Provided overall financial leadership to five operating companies including, SEC reporting, budgeting, internal auditing, and implementing continuous improvement processes focused on cost improvements, scrap reduction, and manufacturing efficiencies. CFO responsible for operations of a business development subsidiary which provided shared services to over 60 Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) subsidiaries and affiliates with revenues of over $ 2 billion. Shared services group provides support to non-regulated affiliates in areas of accounting, budgeting, transaction processing, information systems and due diligence ($ 7 million operating budget).

Developed strategies to maximize Charge Master revenue enhancing Medicare, State Medi-Cal and Managed Care revenues and decrease operating expenses.
MBA. Interim Chief Financial Officer for a nationally recognized hospice, total budget of $30 million.  Engineered over $1 million in cost savings.  Negotiated an additional $3 million in financing.  Assisted hospice in earning its first profit in 30 years. Efficiently closed a fertility clinic including collection of accounts receivable; sublease space; liquidate capital assets and transfer of stored biological materials. Produced more than 50% additional cash collections over budgeted amount. Developed a fixed asset database for a network of publicly owned fertility clinics. Resolved budget and profitability issues at San Francisco-based fertility clinic by identifying over $500,000 in revenue, which over a nine month period, had not previously been recognized and billed. Developed financial policies and procedures for a not-for-profit mental health program resulting in an almost 50% increase in profits within six months. Implemented patient financial services staff training at a start-up hospice relative to reimbursement and billing procedures. Assisted a multitude of clients, including hospice, home health, private duty nursing, mental health, MSO and physician practices, in reducing A/R. Many of these reductions were over 50% in less than 6 months.
